วิทยาการที่นำเอาความรู้ทางวิทยาศาสตร์มาประยุกต์ใช้ให้เกิดประโยชน์ในทางปฏิบัติ และอุตสาหกรรม
การแพทย์ คือ
ศาสตร์ของ วินิจฉัย บำบัดรักษาหรือป้องกันโรค โดยมุ่งหมายให้มนุษย์บรรเทาจากอาการทุกข์ทรมานที่เป็นอยู่ หรือช่วยให้สามารถรักษาชีวิตหรือให้กลับมาสู่สภาวะที่ไม่เจ็บป่วยได้
เมื่อเราได้รับการรักษาจากโรงพยาบาลก็ทราบว่าเขามีการใช้เทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศเข้ามาเกี่ยวข้องกับการรักษา

เทคโนโลยีมีการถเปลี่ยนแปลงไปมากถูกพัฒนาขึ้นตามลำดับเมื่อก่อนไม่มีเครื่องเอกซเรย์ ไม่มีเครื่องมืออุปกรณ์ทางที่ใช้ในปัจจุบัน เพราะว่าเทคโนโลยีเข้ามาเกี่ยวข้องกับการแพทย์ มนุษย์มีความรู้ความสามารถในการพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีไ้ในระดับหนึ่งแต่ไม่มากนักแต่มนุษย์จะมีการพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีต่อไปเรื่อยๆ จากรุ่น สู่รุ่น
